Single Origin Omni Roast
El Salvador • Los Angeles
Welcome to Finca Los Angeles, a captivating 23-manzana coffee haven situated in the scenic Ahuachapán mountain range of western El Salvador. This remarkable farm, overseen by the esteemed Sigfredo Corado, a retired Agronomy professor, is exclusively dedicated to nurturing the extraordinary Pacamara variety.
As an integral part of the renowned Los Naranjos group, Finca Los Angeles participates in the transformative Renacer Program, an educational initiative aimed at imparting better farm management practices to producers in the area. This noble endeavour is made possible through the generous support of Raices (Roots) and Catholic Relief Services, fueling a mission to perfect the art of coffee cultivation.
Under the expert leadership of Sigfredo and his team of six skilled field technicians, the
Technical Field School diligently supports small to medium coffee producers. Emphasizing the 4 R’s for soil health—Right Source, Right Dose, Right Place, and Right Moment—the school empowers the students with valuable knowledge to enhance their coffee-growing skills.
Collaborating with its sister farm, Finca Noruega, the Technical Field School holds bi-monthly classes where students get to apply their newfound expertise on test plots. With three enriching modules offered throughout the year, the learning journey is both engaging and rewarding.
Steeped in a decade of history, Finca Los Angeles cherishes a herbicide-free approach to allow the land and soil to rejuvenate naturally. The farm’s 23 Manzanas are meticulously divided into sections, each adorned with approximately 3000 coffee trees. Carefully designed shade trees and wind barriers create an idyllic atmosphere, nurturing the coffee plants with utmost care.
Managing the farm’s day-to-day operations are some of the graduates from the esteemed Technical School, demonstrating their dedication and commitment to sustainable practices.
The coffee cherries are selectively harvested, ensuring only the finest ones are chosen for further processing. The journey then leads to Beneficio San Rafael, nestled between the picturesque hills of El Pilon and Cerro Aguila, at an elevation of 1450 meters above sea level. Here, the Pacamara beans undergo meticulous washing and floating before undergoing
a delicate washed processing.
